A brief history of Klacko Marine

Klacko Marine was established in the 60s, by Martin Klacko within Erich Bruckmann’s Custom Division of C&C Yachts. Working with C&C Yachts and Bruckmann allowed Martin to be at the forefront of a very exciting time for yacht racing and development.

Danny Klacko began working for his older brother Martin in the early days at the C&C Custom Division and soon headed the Spar division of Klacko Marine.

In the late 80s, Klacko Marine moved into the well known shop on Third Line. This enabled the company to service a wider customer group, which included C&C Yachts, CS Yachts, Hinterhoeller, Beneteau, Medeiros Limestone, Tartan, Grampian, Saga, Ontario Yachts and Bruckmann Yachts.

By the early 90s, Martin further focused on supplying the production boatbuilding world with stainless and aluminum hardware. He established a second facility in Grimsby, Ontario and Danny continued with the Oakville Spar Division under the new name ‘Klacko Spars’.  Tim and Daniel are now actively involved in running day to day operations at the Oakville Spar location.

In 2014, Doug moved the shop to it’s new location in St.Catharines, Ontario.

Klacko Spars and Klacko Marine are separate entities but to this day work jointly in providing the yachting community with high levels of fabrication service and expertise.
