Klacko Marine was established in the 60s, by Martin Klacko within Erich Bruckmann’s yacht building facility in Oakville, Ontario. Soon after that, Bruckmann formed the Custom Division of C&C Yachts. Working within C&C Yachts as the primary in house marine metal designer and fabricator allowed Martin to be at the forefront of a very exciting time in yachting history.
Danny Klacko began working for his older brother Martin in the early days at the C&C Custom Division and soon headed the Spar division of Klacko Marine.
In the late 80s, Klacko Marine moved into the well known shop on Third Line in Oakville. This enabled the company to service a broader customer base, which includes C&C Yachts, CS Yachts, Hinterhoeller, Beneteau, Medeiros Limestone, Tartan, Grampian, Saga, Ontario Yachts and Bruckmann.
By the early 90s, Martin decided to focus the stainless and aluminum hardware division on serving the commercial yacht building industry. He established a second facility in Grimsby, Ontario. Danny continued with the Spar Division at the Third Line shop under the new name ‘Klacko Spars’. Tim and Daniel are now actively involved in running day to day operations at the Oakville Spar location.
In 1995, Doug Gierula entered the Klacko world working summers for Martin at the Grimsby Shop. After completing his Engineering Degree and Apprenticeship, he took on the reigns of Klacko Marine. In 2014, Doug moved the shop to a new location in St.Catharines, Ontario to supply broader and more modern fabricating services.
For those who do not know which Klacko to choose….simply put, Klacko Marine is focused on high quality custom stainless steel and aluminum fabrication out of St.Catharines, Ontario and Klacko Spars Oakville provides mast, boom and rigging solutions.
Klacko Spars and Klacko Marine to this day work jointly in providing the yachting community with high levels of fabrication service and expertise.
