Good Old Boat: Klacko History

Good Old Boat” history magazine is a bi-monthly publication that caters to hands-on sailboat owners who are passionate about maintaining, upgrading, and enjoying cruising sailboats, particularly those built since the late 1950s. The magazine stands out for its focus on practical advice, offering reviews, stories from sailors, technical articles about equipment installations and repairs, and thoughtful essays. It operates under a virtual organization model with no central office, relying on a team of remote employees and freelancers. Revenue is primarily subscription-based, with a limited amount of advertising. Notably, the magazine’s cover art is free of article titles, a unique design choice.

Sailrite has offered to keep the Good Old Boat website up and running. All resources that are available on goodoldboat.com will remain available at no cost to you. Additionally, the good folks at Sailrite plan to add even more quality content in the future including sail data, boat specs and more.

With this transition, Sailrite will own the intellectual property rights of Good Old Boat. This includes all previously published Good Old Boat content.
